Our Crowdfunding Groups
The Lyon College Pipe Band preserves and celebrates the Scottish heritage roots that Lyon College has had since 1872. Our band is comprised of students, faculty, and staff of Lyon College, as well as volunteer musicians from the community. We perform at official college functions, community parades, and venues around the state of Arkansas. We also compete at festivals and games throughout the United States and abroad. Our performances create a unique atmosphere and memorable experience, both for those who've heard the pipes during their time as students at Lyon College and for those who hear the band for the first time. Practice makes perfect – we rehearse daily to improve our performance. Our band relies on having the best instruments and equipment to create the quality sound this band is known for.
The Lyon College Pipe Band needs more snare drums! Currently, we have 5 snare drummers but only 3 snare drums; the band can’t function without our drummers, and we want to ensure that every drummer has a drum. Sure, our bagpipes sound great, but without a tight drum line, we just don't sound the same. We are asking for your help. With $5,000, which is our project's goal, we can purchase 5 new snare drums. This would ensure that every drummer in the band would have a drum AND that they would have new drums.
When you think Lyon College, you almost instinctively think the Pipe Band. We are a living, breathing representation of the College. We want to bring recognition to Lyon. More important, we want to make Lyon College Alumni (you may be one!) proud of us. With your support, we know we can make you proud!

We will send you an official Lyon College Pipe Band drum stick. We'll even have a Pipe Band drummer sign it!
We will provide a free ticket to the 2017 Lyon College Pipe Band performance at the Ron Robinson Theater in Little Rock, AR. We will also provide VIP seating to the event to ensure your experience is the best it can be.
We will provide the same benefits as the VIP, and in addition, we will personally thank you from the stage! (In between songs of course)
The Lyon College Pipe Band will compose a pipe tune in your honor, name it after you, perform it at the halftime show of the 2016 Lyon College Homecoming game...AND you get to lead the band in the performance!
