Our Crowdfunding Groups
We, the Seniors of Lyon College, the Class of 2017, have found our home in this institution. Our four years have been characterized by a Code of Honor and a Commitment to Service. We’ve seen professors and programs come and go, watched as friends grew with us, side by side. During this time it is likely that we have found a place of solace or productivity. Whether it be the often boisterous lobby of the library, late nights in an academic building, or even a secret hideaway in a hammock there are places that have become special to us and ours. Places so full of memories it would be a great task to recount them all. Now, the Class of 2017 has the option to recommit ourselves to a nature of integrity and service and leave behind a gift that will allow our fellow underclassmen to make even more stories for recollection- this time over a latte and muffin!
The official Senior Class Gift of 2017 is a contribution totaling $5,000 towards the installation of a Coffee Shop in the Morrow Academic Center, right in the middle of campus. It is in this space that students will be able to come in, grab a cappuccino or hot tea, and sit down for some quality friend time or even a study session. It is here that current and future students will be able to thrive through the easy availability of caffeine on the way to an 8 a.m. class, or even the beginning of a 9 p.m. all-nighter. We, the Senior Class of 2017 have a rare opportunity to show not only our support for Lyon, but also for our underclassmen. This fundraiser an excellent way to begin giving back to Lyon, and will become a magnificent approach for Lyon to further appreciate its sophomores, juniors, and future seniors.
Lyon has transformed us into capable, educated, and resilient individuals that are active in influencing the culture that surrounds us. Through our donations we will be able to transform Lyon for the better once more. We will again improve the campus life and reputation of the academic institution that we have called a home in some measure for some of the most formative years of our lives. We as seniors have the responsibility of being the best and brightest that Lyon currently has to offer, and when we pool our talents and resources together we can make a huge, lasting impact. By encouraging others to give to this cause we will be doing a great service to the College, the underclassmen, future students, and our own legacy.
