We're the Lyon College Athletic Department, and we're proud of our men's baseball team—more recently the AMC conference champions! We hope that we can continue our success as they go into the 2017 NAIA Baseball National Championship tournament.
Revived in 1992, the baseball program has been about two things: academics and athletics. Lyon College Athletics work hard to maintain integrity in both fields in order to proudly represent our alma mater, Lyon College.
While we're excited about our recent win, we've got to fund our postseason play! We need to be able to fund travel, hotel stays, and food. We're asking you, our fans, our former teammates, and our supporters for help. You've always been a strength to us, and we couldn't do what we've been blessed to do without you!
To win, our athletes already make sacrifices! With your help, they won't have to worry about the challenges that come with postseason play. Our goal is $10,000. With your help, we will be able to cover much of the cost of our postseason play. More importantly, you will show our players that you believe in their talents and their dedication to athletics and to Lyon.
As Lyon College athletics grows, so does its success. In addition to the baseball team's success, Lyon athletics has also seen success in other programs, including women's basketball and men's soccer. Your help also ensures that all Lyon sports receive the funds that best meet the needs of our student-athletes.
Aside from showing our players that you believe in them, you're supporting those who paved the way for this baseball program. You're showing appreciation to people like Fred Wann, who coached the Scots during the 1970s, or Kirk Kelley who headed reviving this program in 1992. You're honoring the hundreds of student-athletes who came through this program before, players who set the bar for how a Lyon baseball player should act and perform. And you're giving yourselves the opportunity to be a part of this historic moment.
