Athletic Giving Challenge: Softball

WHY YOU?

Who better to participate in a competition than athletes? You know what it takes to win, and you know how devastating it is to lose. You know how to rely on your team, to work together, and to secure a victory. You also know that there is more to being an athlete than the game itself. You know loyalty, resilience, and sportsmanship. Of course we want our athletic alumni to participate in our first Athletic Giving Challenge!

WHY PARTICIPATE?

Participating in our Athletic Giving Challenge is a fun way for you to reconnect with old teammates, meet new teammates, and support your alma mater. By donating to Lyon, you show that you believe in the College. And when we apply for grants from foundations, those foundations look at who believes in us. When they see that we have a strong percentage of alumni support, they are more apt to grant us money.  We also need you because you exemplify loyalty to the utmost degree, the kind of loyalty that will inspire others to help Lyon. Finally, the sport with the most points will receive a special reward!

THE REWARD?

The sport that receives the most points (see FAQ for scoring information) will also receive a small amount of the money raised. That amount of money goes directly into the winning sport’s operating budget! The remainder of the money raised will go to the Lyon College Athletic Program and the Lyon College Annual Fund, which helps ensure that students receive an experience in addition to an education!
